Wind Borne Debris Regions
These are the areas which are eligible for the Florida My Safe Home Program.
They include any area with predicted 120mph plus windspeeds.
Looking at the state map, all of Pinellas County is covered, but hardly
any of Hillsborough, Pasco, Hernando, Citrus or Levy Counties are
covered. More than half of Manatee County and most of Sarasota Counties
appear to be covered. South Florida is well within the guidelines. That is bad if the susceptibility to high winds worries you but of course you are able to use the Florida My Safe Home Program.

For the Pasco County map, click on "search using map" on the top of the page. In the new
window, click on "Regulatory" on the right side and check the
box next to Wind Code Zones then click "refresh map" button back
on the top of the page.
One more indication that the Miami Mafia are doing well from the current government recently is that this storm damage mitigation program, My Safe Florida Home, now only applies in 120mph plus wind borne debris zones. Where do they tend to be? The very south of the state of course.
It has been reported that the biggest savings on homeowners insurance is in South Florida as well.
